Source: Wikipedia. The Polish Ice Hockey Federation  (Polish: Polski Związek Hokeja na Lodzie, PZHL) is the governing body that oversees ice hockey in Poland. Founded in Warsaw on February 22, 1925 by representatives of the 4 polish hockey’s clubs: Polonia Warsaw, AZS Warszawa, Warszawianka Warszawa and Warszawskie Towarzystwo Łyżwiarskie (WTŁ Warszawa). PZHL, the PZHL Shield are the trademarks of the Polish Ice Hockey League. The PZHL is headquartered in Warsaw, Poland.

In April of 2013, Poland Hockey League, PHL Sp. z o.o., a limited liability for-profit partnership, has been established. Headquartered in Katowice, Poland, the organization was founded by PZHL, its sole owner — to organize and manage Polish professional hockey league. The PZHL Vice President,  Mr. Mariusz Wołosz, has been elected as the PHL first president. Currently, the PHL consists of ten premiere professional hockey teams. The inaugural PHL season starts September 6th, 2013.
